08:30: The jeep and tour guide will meet you at your hotel. We will start the day tour in Hoi An with a river cruise through the country lanes and villages. Feel the wind in the hair and soak up the scenery as well as observe the local people raising fields and livestocks.
09:00: After crossing the Cua Dai Bridge, we arrive at the fishing village which is alive with activity as the market traders selling their evenings catch. In addition, it is also a great opportunity to explore the village and take photos before visiting where local fish sauce is made. You can learn how this delicious and unique condiment is made there. We sit together to enjoy a local coffee before come back to Hoi An.
10:30: Take a boat trip on the river to explore an amazing village which is home to 7-hectare water coconut palm fields. These palms that grow in the waterways are unique and have a myriad of uses in Hoi An from food to housing construction materials!
11: 00: The waterways are also home to the basket boats used by local fishermen where visitors learn about the traditional art of making basket boats before boarding these strange and unique vessels to continue the trip. During the boat trip, you can meet the local people who make the fishing nets, a trade that has been handed down through the centuries.
12:00: Visit Tra Que Vegetable Village where you can experience one typical day in Hoi An by living and working with locals.
12:15: You will join a cooking demonstration with local village hosts, who also show you some of the local specialties, including rice paper, banh xeo and tam huu local spring roll. Then it’s time to roll up your sleeves and try preparing your own Hoi An specialty. Sit back and enjoy your culinary creations at the family table.
13:30: Before we set off on our tour of the village, it’s time to relax and enjoy a traditional foot massage in the fragrant garden.
14:00: Your village hosts will take you on a tour of the village where you can enjoy the nurseries and herb gardens abundant with bird’s eye chili, lemongrass, basil, coriander and spring onions that are all thriving in the rich soil. Learn about the unique algae and its nourishing impacts on the soil. Jump right in and see how the plots are planted, tended and watered with the guidance of local family farmers.
14:30: We continue exploring the countryside of Hoi An by stopping at an ancient pagoda which is a place for quiet reflection. Listening to your heart, throwing away all your troubles and staying in the harmonious environment of the monastery, you will surely feel it worthwhile.
15:00: Leaving the pagoda, we keep up transferring to Thanh Ha Pottery Village for learning about its history and the current pottery made in the village.
16:00: Come back to your hotel. Tour ends here.
