You will be picked up at the hotel and brought to pier, preparing for the trip on the speedboat. Afterwards, the boat departs and slips away from downtown Ho Chi Minh City via narrow canals, and then enters the verdant green tributaries of the Mekong Delta. A light breakfast is also served on board.

You will then enjoy a brief stop at the overwater Tuong Van Pagoda while tour guide keeps explaining the significance of Buddhism to the Delta’s residents. Next, we continue visiting a bustling, colorful riverside market full of local curiosities, tropical fruits and all local fish and shellfish and reach the tranquil waterlogged region of the Delta itself, known as the Delta of Nine Dragons for the 9 tributaries that splinter from the main Mekong River.

At about 10:45, we go on boat to Thu Thua area. Right here, depending on the route, you can choose one in two option to have a fascinating insight into life in the Mekong Delta region.

Option 1: We will visit a traditional riverside house raising huge Burmese pythons as pets, an antiquated Mekong village and surrounding lush rice paddies, and then a traditional farmhouse where you’ll sample coconuts and Mekong whisky.

Option 2: We visit a local merchant and try a range of local Mekong speciaties. The program is walking along the river banks to a traditional rural Vietnamese house where 3 generations live closely together before exploring a captivating village where you can try fresh coconuts from the tree.

(Special note: Tours are flexible so parts from both routes may be combined based on tourists’ interests)

After lunch with traditional Mekong Delta food at a local pagoda prepared by our private chef, we take a visit to an orphanage run by Buddhist monks after lunch.

The afternoon of the day tour is to visit a colorful Cao Dai Temple – a famous, unique cultural site in the region to have a deeper comprehension of the spirit life of locals.

Return to the speedboat and depart for Ho Chi Minh City. We arrive back in Ho Chi Minh City at about 16:00. Tour ends here.

(Special note: The finish time may vary due to group dynamics and based on the optimized situations)
